A NUMBER OF US CITIES TO HOLD A TURKIC WEEK

Washington. Isabel Levine – APA. A Turkic week is starting in the
United States from today. APA"s Washington DC correspondent was told
at Turkish Diaspora, that the main actions will be held in Washington
DC, New York City, California, etc.

During this week all the American Turkic communities, including
Turkish, Azerbaijani, Crimea, Tatar and other Diasporas will celebrate
and hold demonstrations, conferences, information sessions, meetings
and concerts.

Along with the Diasporas members a number of musicians, artists and
actors from Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Turkey and other countries are going
to take place in the celebration. Participation in the actions is
free and it its main target is to inform the US about the richness
of Turkic cultures and traditions.

During the events Azerbaijani flag will be raised, and a number
of political slogans will be voiced, including the freedom for
Nagorno-Karabakh and its reunion with Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani Diaspora confirmed their participation in these events.

Besides that on May 19th there will be a folklore festival in
New-York, then on May 20th the honor of Ataturk will be remembered,
21-22 May will be dedicated to folklore exhibitions, 22-23 – concerts
in a number of places in New York. On May 22nd the national teams of
Turkey and Czech Republic are going to have a game in NYC, and on May
24th Turkish popular pop-singer Serdar Ortazh s going to perform at
Manhattan center in New York.
