CASHLESS PAYMENTS IN ARMENIA DECREASED BY 12% IN 2010 FIRST QUARTER

Cashless payments through the Armenian banking system amounted to
2956bln in the first quarter of 2010, with 2100bln through the Central
Bank’s payment system.

During the reported period, the amount of cashless payments decreased
by 12%, while their number grew by 20%.

The average daily amount of money transfers through CB payment systems
totaled AMD 33bln, which is AMD 9.3bln less than in the first quarter
of 2009. At that, transfers for exchange transactions totaled AMD
148bln, the CBA press office said.
