25 RUSSIA-BASED NGOS CALL ON ANKARA TO RECOGNIZE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

Some 25 NGOs in the Russian region of Kuban have made a joint statement
calling on Turkish authorities to recognize the Armenian Genocide,
reports Firat agency.
Representatives of several nations have signed the statement, among
them also Jews, Germans, Russians, Assyrians, Greeks, Dagestanis,
Kurds, Ossetians, Abkhazians, Tatars , etc., who say that Russia is
one of the most multi-national countries, but none of those nations
has felt depressed while living in the Russian soil for decades.
"As what concerns Turkey, that state should conduct a fair study
of the 1915-1923 events, should condemn the massacres of the local
peoples and repent the memory of millions of innocent victims,"
reads the statement.
"We call on condemning the first crime of the 20th century perpetrated
against humanity – the Armenian Genocide."
