HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN RECEIVES ORENBURG DELEGATION

YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS: Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik
Abrahamyan received today delegation headed by the governor of the
Russian province of Orenburg Alexey Chernishov.
NA Public Relations department told Armenpress that welcoming the
guests the NA speaker expressed hope that their visit will promote
the expansion and activation of ties. Noting that the relations with
Russia are among the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, Hovik
Abrahamyan said that among the prior directions of Armenian-Russian
cooperation is development of ties among the regions. About 70
provinces have direct economic ties with Armenia.
NA speaker pointed out the importance of developing the already
existing ties and promote the creation of new ones. Taking into
consideration the importance of legal basis necessary for development
of inter-regional cooperation, NA speaker highlighted the expansion
of trade-economic relations, noting the existence of great potential.
Expressing gratitude for reception, the governor of Orenburg presented
the economic situation and the opportunities of the province,
noting that there are great opportunities for mutually beneficial
cooperation. Hovik Abrahamyan expressed readiness to assist in
expansion of stable and developing ties between the regions of Armenia
and Russia.
