On May 20 the Speaker of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received
the delegation of Orenburg Region of the Russian Federation led by
the Governor Alexei Chernyshov.

Greeting the guests the Speaker of RA National Assembly expressed hope
that their visit would promote the expansion and activation of the
relations. Noting that the relations with Russia was one of the main
priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, Hovik Abrahamyan documented
that one of the most important directions of the Armenian-Russian
cooperation was the development of relations between the regions.

About 70 entities of the Russian Federation have direct economic
ties with Armenia. RA National Assembly Speaker considered necessary
to develop already existing ties and promote the creation of the new
ties. Taking into account the importance of the necessary legal basis
for the inter-regional development, RA NA Speaker considered essential
the role of parliaments in that issue. Hovik Abrahamyan emphasized
the expansion of trade-economic relations, noting the existing big
potential. He expressed his gratitude for the attitude displayed
towards our compatriots residing in Orenburg, who are involved in
different spheres.

were big opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation. The Speaker

of parliament to support for having stable and developing relations

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
