The first instance court of Kentron-Nork Marash districts today ended
hearings into the case filed by the legal successors of March 1
victims Tigran Khachatryan, Gor Kloyan and Armen Farmanyan. The
relatives were challenging the inactivity of the Special Investigation
Service and Prosecutor General’s Office.

All the 30 questions raised by legal representative of March 1 victims
Artak Zeynalyan were left unanswered today.

As usual, respondent Vahagn Harutyunyan said the preliminary
investigation was continuing and they could give no more details not
to harm the investigation.

"I just want to know whether my son’s right to life was violated or
not. Does the question harm the secrecy of the trail? How long do they
intend to fool us?" said Alla Hovhannisyan, the mother of March 1
victim Tigran Khachatryan.

Her question was viewed by the judge as "deliberate and ill-motivated."

"I am simply seeking a fair trial," said the indignant mother.

The atmosphere in the courthouse tensed after the incident.

"The policemen opening fire at our sons are already known. It is also
known by which weapon they were shot dead. Why don’t you simply
inquire who gave the order of shooting. It is a simple task, isn’t
it," said Sargis Kloyan, the father of Gor Kloyan.

In reply, Judge Karakhanyan said the preliminary investigation was
still underway and it would give answers to many questions.

The Court is scheduled to return a verdict on May 24.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
