Today is the international day of biodiversity
Today is the international day of biodiversity. The UNO has announced
the 2010 an internatinal year of biodiversity.
The head of the of stable management of biodiversity project of German
technical collaboration company Thomas Eberharn informed today that in
the frameworks of the project the RA Nature Protection Ministry
together with the education and science ministry has initiated a
project of ecological education and information.
He mentioned that on the sidelines of that project will be implemented
a campaign on exploring biodiversity of the brooks and rivers of
Armenia.
`The rivers are living ecosystems which flaw through the regions of
Armenia like the veins through our body,’ Tomas Ebhern stressed and
added that the target groups of the project are the children from 9 to
14 years old.
According to him this year, in May and April, around 120 teachers from
different regions of Armenia have taken part in the lectures on the
rivers and brooks’ biodiversity and ecology.
