Olimp Production Cooperation, proprietor of Milano shop on Abovyan
Street in downtown Yerevan has filed a complaint to the European Court
of Human Rights over the “illegal” alienation of Milano’s property
by the Compulsory Acts Judicial Service of the Republic of Armenia,
according to a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Milano,
Hovhannes Ghukasyan.

Milano was founded in 1995. Two years ago the territory that the
two-floor building occupies was considered as being “of public
priority interest,” and a building is allegedly said to be built
on the site. Therefore, the territory and its property are subject
to alienation.

The proprietor Hovhannes Ghukasyan insists that he has not been paid
the amount due as compensation.

A court case in which Ghukasyan is accused of smuggling goods
to Armenia will be heard today in Court of first instance on
Malatia-Sebastia administrative districts.

Separately, on June 3 the Court of First Instance of Kentron (Centre)
and Nork-Marash will hear a case filed by Olimp Production Cooperation
according to Article 441 of the Civil Code of Armenia.
