“The Armenian-Polish relations are friendly and they need not be
commented on,” Poland’s Ambassador to Armenia Zdislav Rachinski
Rachinski told a press conference in Yerevan today.
“Poland’s position on the Karabakh issue is neutral. It accepts the
resolution adopted by the European community,” the Ambassador said,
commenting on Resolution 2216. He added that “the conflict should be
solved in a peaceful way on the basis of the principle of the right
of nations to self-determination, territorial integrity should also
be respected.”
“The problems should be solved through negotiations involving the
three parties,” the Ambassador said, emphasizing the importance of
NKR people’s participation in the talks.
According to Zdislav Rachinski , there can be a stable solution
only when the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides come to agreement,
while the EU can help when it comes to financing and deployment of
peacekeeping forces.
Touching upon Turkey’s aspiration to join the EU, the Ambassador said
“Turkey is not developed enough to enter the European Union now.” Mr.
Rachinski is optimistic as regards Armenia’s perspectives of joining
the EU.
