Many people were gathered at the house-park of great Armenian poet
Paruyr Sevak in Zangakatun village where the bells marking the 40th
anniversary of the poet’s death had been ringing since morning.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t have any contact with Sevak, but I have always
felt that I needed him during my career. The chain of heritage was
cut off after his death,” distinguished art figure, doctor-professor
David Gasparyan told “A1+”.
The poet’s tombstone is located in a corner of the big park, and
Paruyr Sevak’s home is located a little further away. The poet’s son
Armen and grandchild Sevak refused to answer questions, but said they
were ready to speak with those who really love Sevak.
Director of Paruyr Sevak’s house-museum Avetik Grigoryan has been
working as the house-museum’s director for the past 30 years. He says
there are always many people on Sevak’s birthday and the day of his
death and every generation comes to fill the gap of the previous one.
Avetik Grigoryan also said the museum is scheduled to undergo a
capital renovation next year.
Before reaching Zangakatun, people paid their tribute near the memorial
placed at the site where the poet’s family got into an accident.
