Armenian Energy Minister Delivers Report At IAEA Conference

ARMENIAN ENERGY MINISTER DELIVERS REPORT AT IAEA CONFERENCE

YEREVAN.- The Armenian delegation headed by Minister of Energy and
Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan participated in the IAEA ministerial
conference on nuclear safety which opened in Vienna on June 20.

The Minister delivered a report on ~SProgram of nuclear power
development in Armenia~T featuring issues on improvement of security
level of the Armenian NPP, construction of new power unit and
conduction of stress tests.

The Armenian delegation includes Deputy Energy Minister Areg Galstyan,
Armenian Ambassador to Austria, permanent representative Ashot
Hovakimyan and employees of the representation, ministry~Rs press
service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

During the Monday session IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano proposed
that countries with nuclear power should agree to systematic, periodic
peer reviews by the IAEA.

The representatives from Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Croatia,
Armenia, Belarus and Turkey will participate in a high level meeting
on the stress tests at NPPs scheduled for June 23.
