YEREVAN
Individual approach in dismantling the stalls in Yerevan will be
applied only in regard with legal sites with operating contracts,
press-secretary of Yerevan Municipality Shushan Sardaryan informed.
“It refers only to the stalls located in the center of Yerevan which
create different obstacles, particularly hinder the communication of
the city in green areas”, she said.
The municipality will discuss mutually acceptable options and
alternatives with them. The municipality has already instructed the
administrative heads on this issue.
“As for illegal buildings and stalls with due date contracts, they
will be dismantled”, she said.
She cited the Article 26, Chapter 8 of the Law “On Urban Construction”
according to which “Unauthorized constructions and their consequences
in urban and rural territories of municipalities will be liquidated”.
“Termination of their activities means dismantling. The owner of the
land is the community and it is authorized to terminate the cases of
unauthorized construction”, she said.
It is already several days that dismantling of the stalls of retail
trade and services is taking place in Yerevan. During dismantling in
the intersection of Papazyan and Komitas streets a clash of owners
of small business with law enforcement officers took place.
Land plots for new stalls and pavilions of retail trade and services
(shoemaking and souvenir stalls) except newspaper booths will not be
provided from now on. Dates of contracts will not be delayed.
Yesterday, in the government meeting the Prime Minister of Armenia
Tigran Sargsyan explained that mass dismantling of the operating
stalls will not take place.
The issue of dismantling will be implemented by individual approach
and it will take place only in case of emergency.
