Armenia registers 2,577 road accidents since beginning of 2012

YEREVAN.- In Armenia has recorded 2,577 road accidents since the
beginning of the year, head of the department of traffic police,
Colonel Norik Sargsyan told reporters.
He said 306 people have been killed and 3,702 injured in road accidents.
According to statistics, in 2012 the traffic police managed to reduce
the number of road accident victims by 15, less than in the past.
The main causes of car accidents are speeding and violations of the
rules of overtaking. At the same time, the number of accidents
committed by drunk drivers has reached is 1%.
