YEREVAN, 16 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. The Standing Committee on Political
Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy of the Euronest Parliamentary
Assembly passed the resolution on applying the instrumentation
for the new neighborhood policy within the framework of the active
partnership with the European Union. The resolution doesn’t include
the Azerbaijani Delegation’s proposals regarding the regulation of
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. During a press conference following the
session, head of the Armenian Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary
Assembly Artak Zakaryan emphasized that Azerbaijan had submitted three
proposals to include in the resolution, of which two were related to
the regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“The members of the Armenian Delegation asked the members of the
Committee to vote against the proposals of the Azerbaijani Delegation.
The Committee rejected the two proposals of the Azerbaijani
Delegation that were related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and
were unacceptable for the Armenian Delegation, but it did include one
of the proposals. It didn’t directly relate to the conflict, but it
was still unacceptable for us. We still have a chance to discuss the
other proposal of the Azerbaijanis included in the resolution during
the Bureau’s session and the plenary session,” Zakaryan underscored,
as “Armenpress” reports.
The Committee also didn’t include the Azerbaijani Delegation’s
proposals according to which the EU should no longer continue to
cooperate with Armenia since Armenia is now a member of the Eurasian
Economic Union.
