GABRIELYAN: ARMENIA CAN SHARE ITS TRADE LIBERALIZATION EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION MEMBER COUNTRIES

YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. Armenia can share its trade liberalization
experience with other Eurasian Economic Union member countries, Vache
Gabrielyan, a member of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s board,
said Monday at a round-table discussion over the union’s market.

“Taking into account the limitedness of the market and in order
to establish an attractive investment environment, Armenia has in
general adopted a liberal trade regulation approach.” he said. “I
think we can share this experience with our fellow EAEU members and
be useful in terms of common development.”

Gabrielyan said that despite Armenia joined the union just recently,
the country’s business people are involved in Eurasian economic
processes.

“Armenian entrepreneurs’ opinion is very important to us,” he said.

“We hope those issues raised by Armenian entrepreneurs today will be
reflected in the Eurasian Economic Commission’s agenda.”

In his words, the Eurasian Economic Commission has already conducted a
study to find ways for lifting the barriers, obstacles and restrictions
that hinder mutual access to markets.

“Armenia’s government proposes to include Armenia and Kyrgyzstan in
this study,” Gabrielyan said. “The study is important, given Armenia’s
specific state.”

The round table was held to highlight problems in Armenia’s economic
relations with other members of ten Eurasian Economic Union and to
seek a quick and effective adaptation in new economic conditions with
joint efforts. Armenia became a full member of the union on January 2,
2015. —0—–
