ARMENIAN PRESIDENT INVITES RUSSIAN INVESTORS TO CONTRIBUTE TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan has
invited Russian investors to contribute to the country’s economic
development.
Armenia has been using a preferential trade regime with EU for some
11,000 items for quite long time, Sargsyan said in his interview to
Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Sargsyan said they hoped new companies would be established producing
in Armenia and selling in the EU or the EEU, Novosti-Armenia reports.
Many companies are interested in forming an economic belt around the
so-called Great Silk Road that went through Armenia, the president
said referring to his visit to China.
Sargsyan said there are currently 1,300 companies with Russian share
in the country.
On January 1, 2014, Armenia turned to a new stage of the GSP+ regime
with the EU. -0–
