YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. Armenia is among top three countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States for Russian tourists in the first quarter 2017.
According TourStat agency’s analysis, the number of trips from Russia rose 24% from 5.4 million in the 1st Q 2016 to 6.7 million in the 1st Q 2017.
In the first quarter of this year, the number of Russian tourists’ trips to Armenia grew 20% to 65,000.
The most popular destinations for Russian tourists in the 1st Q 2017 were the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain and France.
Top 25 countries for Russian tourists in Jan-March 2017 were Finland 736,000 (+28%), Abkhazia 667,000 (+6%), Kazakhstan 512,000 (+2%), China 430,000 (+38%), Estonia 393,000 (+23%), Thailand 381,000 (+35%), Ukraine 372,000 (+20%), Germany 273,000 (+27%), Poland 273,000 (+5%), the United Arab Emirates 210,000 (+57%), Italy 174,000 (+33%), Vietnam 150,000 (+65%), Azerbaijan 139,000 (+31%), Turkey 138,000 (+116%), Georgia 135,000 (+27%), Lithuania 123,000 (-9%), Spain 120,000 (+35%), the Czech Republic 104,000 (+63%), India 98,000 (+63%), France 96,000 (+26%), South Ossetia 84,000 (+10%), Israel 77,000 (+26%), Latvia 76,000 (+15%), Switzerland 68,000 (+3%) and Armenia 65,000 (+20%). -0-
