Sports: Artsakh to host International Sambo Tournament

The 8th International Sambo Tournament, dedicated to Nelson Stepanyan, the twice hero of the Soviet Union, is set to be held in Stepanakert, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic, from June 24 to 25.

In an interview with "Artsakhpress", Ashot Danielyan, the Head of the Department of Sport of Karabakh Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, noted that the tournament is held in Artsakh for the first time.

“The tournament will be attended by Russia, Abkhazia, Armenia and Artsakh sportsmen,” he added.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered.
