Yerevan and Cairo signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of investment

Yerevan September 30

Mariana Mkrtchyan. Minister of Economic Development and Investments of
Armenia Suren Karayan and Egyptian Minister of Investment and
International Cooperation Sahar Nasr signed today a memorandum on
cooperation in the field of investment between the two countries.

The press service of the Ministry of Economy told ArmInfo that during
the tete-a-tete meeting the ministers stressed the importance of the
signed memorandum and noted the need to implement correct and targeted
steps to implement it.

"We will turn the first wheel to start moving forward," Nasr said.

Karayan suggested developing a joint investment program, comparing the
advantages of the two countries and preferential markets.

During the meeting, the importance of cooperation between the free
economic zones of Armenia and Egypt was emphasized.

The ministry also informed that the prospects for cooperation with the
Suez Free Economic Zone representatives, who arrived in Yerevan as
part of the Egyptian delegation, will be discussed in detail.

At the same time, Karayan stated that there is a need to promote
business cooperation between the two countries, especially in the
agricultural sphere, which in turn will lead to an increase in
bilateral trade.

Nasr suggested periodically to organize mutual visits between the
businessmen of the two countries.

The parties touched upon the interaction of logistic companies with
each other. The ministers reaffirmed their readiness to promote the
Armenian-Egyptian economic interaction through permanent contacts.
