Youngstown native is published again

Joseph Pasquarella Jr., author of “Elegy of the Song Sparrow” and “Images of Miss Lindfors,” was born in Youngstown in 1962. His new book, “The Ghosts of Alexandrapol, The Armenian Genocide, The Lost Notes of Khatrun Michaelian,” is a story of his journey to find more information about what his grandparents survived while growing up during the time of the Armenian Genocide.

He became interested after he discovered his Armenian grandmother’s diary after her funeral.

Pasquerella lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife, Kalliopi “Caroline,” and two children, Joseph III and Rachel.

Book discussion group at Salem library

SALEM

A book discussion will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St. “The Woman in Cabin 12” by Ruth Ware will be featured, and the book is available to borrow from the adult-services department of the library. Registration is not required.

The book is about a mysterious woman who may or may not exist and the woman who solves the mystery.
