"Armenia's aggression and their occupation of our soils remain the major threat to the security of Azerbaijan," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmet Hajiyev said. The Minsk group was formed to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Hajiyev called on the group to enforce a UN Security Council resolution demanding Armenian forces end their occupation of the Azerbaijani territory. Nagorno-Karabakh was seized by Armenian secessionists as the Soviet Union broke up in the late 1980s.
