54 year-old resident of Yerevan arrested on suspicion of murder of 60 year-old man

In the result of necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee murder of 60 year-old resident was revealed. The man, born in 1963, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

On December 22, 2017 at 12:00 a call was received from «Saint Gregory the Illuminator» medical center informing that the body of the resident of Yerevan L. Asatryan with cut-pierced wounds on the left upper collarbone region was taken to medical center from the market of the first massive of Nor Norq.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site, inspection of the site was conducted.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed and urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted to find the circumstances of the man’s murder.

As a result, the motive of murder was found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1963. According to preliminary investigation data, some days before murder the victim had argued with the man, born in 1963, who was engaged with sale of shoe inserts. On December 22 the latter, out of revenge, went to the market of the first massive of Nor Norq, stabbed the 60 year-old man twice and escaped.

On January 17 the suspect was arrested and questioned. Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of all circumstances of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
