Shortly before the cabinet rally was launched in front of the Government building. Participants of the action protest against the recently established concept of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, which envisages compulsory licensing of taxi drivers and taxi services for more than 6 years.
The Head of the Governmental Citizens’ Letters Reception Office, Alexander Ghazaryan, spoke to drivers. But he forbade journalists to participate in the discussion with the protesters, reasoning that they would hinder the negotiation process. To the reporters ‘observation that this step hinders journalists’ professional activities, the official said,
“This is my office and I diecide who may enter it and who may not.”
Journalists asked the drivers whether they agreed them to leave, taxi drivers start screaming.
“Let them stay, they are with us.”
However, Alexander Ghazaryan remained indifferent and forbade journalists to enter the building.
The discussion is currently underway.
