CELTIC’S dopey Champions League rivals Alashkert today branded Hoops fans “foolish”.
Armenian minnows, Alashkert, dropped the clanger on its official website as it publicised the crunch tie against Brendan Rodgers’ men.
Club chiefs wrote online: “Throughout Europe, Celtic is known for its foolish fans, who simply provide incredible support to their beloved team.”
The blunder was posted alongside a snap of one of the Green Brigade’s famous displays.
But a source said today: “Maybe the person who wrote that will be the one feeling foolish today.”
Celtic fans face a 5,000-mile round trip to Armenia at the height of summer – with temperatures expected to reach 35C – to play the early stage round.
However, some supporters hit out at confusion over the exact date of next month’s fixture.
It was first understood the game would be played on Wednesday July 11.
