He reminded that positive responses about the situation in Armenia were found in the French press. "This was due to the fact that all the processes took place in a peaceful atmosphere, and moreover, not a single Frenchman has been in a depressing situation during this period: these were processes that were not influenced from outside. In addition, the situation was resolved within the framework of the law and the Constitution of the country, "the diplomat said.
At the same time, he stated that the post-revolutionary situation in Armenia is such that the people are committed to demanding the fulfillment of all the promises. According to him, this new reality in Armenia, new positive trends.
Touching upon Pashinyan-Macron meeting in Brussels, Lacote noticed that the meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, as it was the first and was held on the eve of two important events planned for the autumn of this year: the Francophonie summit in Yerevan and the state visit of the French president to Armenia. Lacote also stressed that the Pashinyan-Macron meeting once again provided an opportunity to demonstrate that France will always support Armenia both within the framework of the EU and in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group. "The changes that have taken place in Armenia give a new impetus to our bilateral relations.In France, with great attention to the processes in Armenia, we see the commitment of the authorities of the country to combating such phenomena as corruption, monopolies and other negative manifestations. According to him, this is due to the fact that everyone wants to come to Armenia and get acquainted with the country where such processes took place. Lacote noted that the number of applications for a visit to Armenia, including investors, has increased. "We look forward to Macron's state visit to Yerevan, which can be perceived as a visit to a new Armenia and a meeting with the new authorities of the country." The agenda of the visit has not been finalized yet, but we believe that the lion's share will be devoted to such areas as culture, youth, "the ambassador said.
At the same time, he expressed the conviction that it is necessary to "infect" Armenian-French relations with the positive energy that exists in Armenia today. Touching upon the economic forum within the framework of the Francophone summit, the diplomat welcomed this initiative. At the same time, Lacote expressed the conviction that the economic forum will open exceptional opportunities for Armenian businessmen. The diplomat also believes that the guests of the International Olympic Committee will be pleasantly surprised by the level of IT development in Armenia.
