YEREVAN, July 17. /ARKA/. A set of new technologies, the way they are used and their possibilities were showcased as part of a project called ‘Hello from the Future,’ initiated by the students of the Ayb School in Yerevan and implemented in concert with GNC-Alfa telecommunications company (trading as Rostelecom in Armenia).
Rostelecom in Armenia said in a news release that the final event took place in a park, located near the downtown Republic Square, and was open to all. 

The purpose of the event was to show the children and adults how artificial intelligence can be used in art through exhibitions, video materials and other informative materials. 

The site was divided into several pavilions, each presenting an aspect of the use of artificial intelligence. 

In particular, one of the pavilions showed the process of using artificial intelligence for creating real pictures by the students. 

The other pavilion showed souvenirs created by the robots, designed by the schoolchildren. Another pavilion hosted a quiz, conducted live on the event’s Facebook page.
Those who were interested to take part in the contest, were asked to send a photograph of the landscape opening from their window in advance. Five photos at the choice of the organizers were processed by using artificial intelligence. 

Winners were awarded prizes. The importance of the project is that the technological future of the people and future technologies are the most discussed and promising topics of the time. According to some opinions, the development of technologies and the reduction of the human factor threaten the existence of certain specialties.
On the other hand, history shows that scientific and technological progress contribute to the development of mankind and the more effective use of life resources, freeing up more time for creativity. 

At the opening of the event, the crowd was welcomed by Vasily Rusakov, the new commercial director of Rostelecom in Armenia and Silvia Yakubian-Nadjaryan, the deputy head of the Ayb School. 

"Rostelecom underscores all the projects that inform the society and introduce the latest technologies, enabling to see them in practice. It is gratifying that the Ayb School in Armenia not only teach these technologies, but also give children the opportunity to use this knowledge, to understand the mechanism of work and to share their personal experiences with peers and society, "said Rusakov. 

"Artificial intelligence has entered our life. It is our future, and we cannot ignore the fact that it is necessary to find new ways to identify the greatest benefits and new uses. Ayb's students study programming and robot designing from the elementary classes. When in high school, they can implement large-scale projects, the results of one we see today, as part of the "Hello from the Future" project. I am happy and proud that our students and their mentors were able to implement the project. In addition, I would like to thank Rostelecom for helping the children, for supporting them and sponsoring this project. Without you, without our patrons and supporters, this project would have been impossible,” Yakubian-Nadzharyan said. 

The project started in May, when together with Rostelecom, a joint roundtable was organized at the Ayb School, along with an exhibition of images processed by using artificial intelligence. 

As one of the leaders of IT sector, Rostelecom joined the project "Hello from the Future", initiated by the Ayb School, emphasizing the importance of implementing similar activities to inform the public about global technology developments and the introduction of technological thinking especially among young people. 

Simultaneously with the exhibition, the head of the Tehnosharzh club of the Ayb school Vazgen Hakobjanyan, who is a lecturer at the American University of Armenia, and also the co-founder of the data research department Artur Khalatyan, the founder and director of HiLearn, a lecturer at the AUA Arsen Mamikonyan, another lecturer at the AUA, director of the Datamotus company Habet Madoyan presented their visions of the prospects for technology development and discussed the role of mankind in this process, the participation opportunities, as well as the emergence of new specialties in the future. 

Rostelecom’s Armenian subsidiary GNC-ALFA began promotion and sale of broadband Internet, IP-TV and a new generation of IP-telephony in Armenia under the brand of Rostelecom from 2012 December. 

The company’s fiber-optic network covers 80% of the territory of Armenia, extending to more about 3000 km.
