Yerevan 24.07.18

Ani Mshetsyan. On the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow on July 24, the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia named after Spendiarian will present Aram Khachaturian's ballet "Gayane".

Note that the ballet in the theater will be attended by the first lady of Armenia – the wife of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Anna Hakobyan, as well as the Ministers of Culture of Armenia and Russia Lilit Makunts and Vladimir Medinsky. This show is timed to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic, the 2800th anniversary of the Armenian capital of Yerevan, as well as to the 115th anniversary of the birth of the great composer Aram Khachaturian.

Recall that Aram Khachaturian's ballet "Gayane" will be staged on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater after a nearly 60-year break, for the last time the performance was staged in 1961. It should be noted that the initiators and organizers of the show in Moscow are the Armenian Embassy in Russia and the Russian and Novo-Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Emil Lazarian

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
