It is about a week that children from the Saramej community in Lori province, under the age of 18, are hospitalized in the Spitak Medical Center. The initial diagnosis of children is intestinal infection. It is still unclear what causes the infection.
“They suspect that water and food are the cause of the disease. Children are all residents of different districts. In addition, they use water from different locations. There are some families who run water from the mountains and have families that build a well and use it.
I cannot admit 100 percent or deny whether it is because of water or food. The situation has mitigated these two days. Yesterday, we did not have any cases, and I have not been informed yet. Some of them are already being written out,” said Sarayger community leader Hayk Hovhannisyan during a conversation with www.aravot.am.
Employees of the Lori branch of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention have got samples to clarify the causes of infection in the community.
