He has already arrived in Scotland and trained yesterday, head coach of the Armenia cycling team Armen Gyozalyan told Mediamax Sport.
Stepanyan will compete on August 3-5, in scratch, omnium and time trial. The prize at stake is the Olympic quota.
The Armenian cyclist trains and competes in the U.S. since March 2018. “It has helped Edgar a lot. He’s gaining experience and competing in different tournaments. Our primary goal now is to perform well in Glasgow to win the Olympic quota in omnium and a medal too, why not?” said Gyozalyan.
Stepanyan traveled to Armenia from U.S. in June and held a training camp in Olympavan, the Olympic training complex in Armenia.
This month Edgar has one more tournament, the U23 European Championship in Switzerland.
