Yerevan November 23
Tatevik Shahunyan. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was not aware of the fact that donations to the ''Hayastan'' Fund following the results of the Telethon -2018 decreased compared to 2017.
In an interview with journalists, he assured that he had other data presented to him. However, having learned the reality, Pashinyan commented on it as follows: "Donations apparently decreased due to the transition period. But soon everything will fall into place. We need to understand what the role and further actions of the foundation are." He did not rule out that the criminal case connected with the director of the foundation had an effect on the results of the gathering.
To note, this year $ 11.1 million was raised, instead of $ 12.5 million in 2017. The largest amount was donated in 2008 and amounted to $ 30.1 million. To recall, on July 3, the former director of the ''Hayastan All-Armenian'' Fund Ara Vardanyan was detained. He admitted that he used a bankcard allocated for the needs of the fund for personal purposes. A credit line of 25 million drams (55 thousand dollars) was opened on the card. With this money he made bets in online casinos.
