YEREVAN, December 24 /ARKA/. The Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) will allocate at least 700 thousand euros in 2019 to finance environmental projects in Armenia, CNF national coordinator in Armenia Arman Vermishyan said at a press conference on Monday.
He said the budget for the next year is still under discussion, however, part the direct financing is determined, while the amount of indirect funding is still unclear, but at least 700 thousand euros will be provided.
The coordinator also said that since 2009 a total of 1.761 billion drams (approximately $360,000) have been spent on CNF events in Armenia.
According to him, more than 40% of the funding is spent on extra cash payments to employees, whose average salary is about 170 thousand drams now.
Vermishyan also said that a significant part of the funding – about 400 million drams- is spent on acquisition and servicing transportation means. He said a total of 26 vehicles were provided to the protected areas, including 8 vehicles to the Khosrov Reserve.
According to the coordinator, photovoltaic panels were installed in the Khosrov Forest and Arpi Lich National Park and greenhouses were built in both places. ($ 1 – 484.31 drams). –0–
