The Armenian chess team tied the match 2-2 with the Hungarian team in the 7th round of the Women’s World Chess Championship drawing to an end in Austria. Elina Danielyan and Anna Sargsyan scored victories, but Maria Gevorgyan and Siranush Ghukasyan were defeated.
In the other pairs, China won Egypt 4-0, India won the USA 4-0, Georgia won Kazakhstan (3.5-0.5), and Russia and Ukraine tied the match (2-2).
China was in first place with 14 points, outscoring Russia with 3 points two rounds before the end of the championship. Georgia and Ukraine share the third and fourth places with 10 points each. India has 8 points, Kazakhstan — 6, the USA — 5, and Armenia and Hungary have 3 points each.
Armenia’s team will compete with the Georgians in the next-to-last round.
