The cyclist is currently involved in a training camp in Olympavan. Head coach of the Armenian track cycling team Armen Gyozalyan has told Mediamax Sport that key tournaments are ahead for Stepanyan.
He’s going to compete in Russia in later May and early June: in Tula on May 27-29, in Moscow Grand Prix on June 1-3, and in St. Petersburg on June 5-7.
“Edgar will also participate in the European Games in Belarus this summer, in team pursuit and omnium. He’s in good form and we’re working to improve it further. Our objective is to have good performance and win qualifying points in international competitions,” said Gyozalyan.
Stepanyan will try to qualify for the European Championship and get to the qualifying rounds of the World Cup. The biggest goal is to compete in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
