Donald Tusk: “I feel at home in Armenia”

Yerevan/Mediamax/. President of the European Council Donald Tusk has noted he feels "at home in Armenia” at the meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today.

President Sarkissian said he hoped that Tusk would be gratified with the visit, especially given the fact that Armenia shares European values.

“Armenia is not only a country that signed an agreement with the European Union, but also a country that is and has always been deeply European in terms of culture. Therefore, coming closer to the EU is very natural for us. Armenia is a cradle of European values, from our religion and culture to literature and music,” noted the President.

Armen Sarkissian has also invited Donald Tusk to visit Armenia with family.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
