What would I like for the prime minister of my country to convey to the US authorities? Former Prime Minister of Armenia Aram Sargsyan, who is Chairman of the Republic Party, asked this question in a Facebook post.
“Armenia is a sovereign and developing state,” he added, in particular. “And having economic revolution and the diversification of national security on its agenda, it proposes to discuss cooperation [in several domains] (…).
“Armenia is ready to discuss options to buy American weapons (…), and to make it clear to the USA that the Armenian side is definitely going to oppose the [Russian FM Sergey] Lavrov plan [toward resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict], and it needs US support—at least not to obstruct.
“And several dozen more matters that cannot be voiced, but shall be discussed so that we have specificity and move forward.”
