A concert marking the 150th birthday anniversary of renowned Armenian composer Komitas took place at the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.

The concert was organized by the Armenian Embassy in Russia, Russian Ministry of Culture and Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Addressing the event was Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toghanyan, who highlighted Komitas' unique role in restoring and developing traditional Armenian folk music, the Russian Embassy in Yerevan reported.

The Komitas State String Quartet, People's Artist of Armenia Hasmik Papyan and others performed during the concert.
