MPs from the ruling party and the opposition, not finding counter-arguments, began to sort things out with fists

ArmInfo.Today's meeting of the Armenian parliament was marked with a fight.

MP from the My Step faction Sasun Mikaelyan, unexpectedly responded  to the speech of Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia  faction, first attacking Marukyan with unpleasant words and then with  fists. Other lawmakers as well as members of the Armenian government  intervened in the brawl.  In particular, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran  Avinyan tried to separate the brawlers.

Parliament Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan tried to declare a break. However,  the situation was brought under control, after which Marukyan  continued his speech, demanding an additional 10 minutes from the  chairman. "No matter how much you beat me, do not make me silent  anyway," said the MP, whose speech was constantly interrupted by the  same Sasun Mikaelyan. This again made Marukyan lose his temper.   "Leave your Shmays (former deputy Arakel Movsisyan nicknamed  "Shmays", distinguished by his violent temper – ed.) habits. It's  enough this culture should be eradicated. And do not beat me from  behind on the back>, the MP said. In the end, the speaker  nevertheless announced a break.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
