YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The pro-government representatives of Armenia’s delegation to the PACE answered the questions of the PACE about the May 8 brawl in the RA NA [National Assembly] [by saying] that it originated from the argument between [NA vice-speaker] Alen Simonyan and Ani Samsonyan [a member of the opposition Bright Armenia parliamentary faction], in which Edmon Marukyan [leader of the Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and its parliamentary faction] also got involved, insulting the NA vice-speaker with the ugly description of "son of an immoral;" outraged by this, the pro-government [MPs] have "disciplined" Marukyan.
"We have given clarifications, we have said that it is a lie, the argument took place on April 28, the brawl [in parliament]—on May 8," they said from the BAP.
And the pro-government source said that Marukyan lied in the materials provided to the PACE that the Prime Minister [Nikol Pashinyan] did not condemn, justified the behavior of his teammates. But Marukyan denied it. "It’s a lie. We did not give the name of the Prime Minister, we provided the video of the brawl—with a translation."
