YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Recently, due to the epidemic situation in the country, the authorities have started to regulate in a parliamentary way the (…) issue of getting rid of seven of the judges the RA Constitutional Court and replacing them with their own.
Before that, they applied to the Venice Commission for the latter to present its professional and authoritative opinion on "resolving the crisis around the RA Constitutional Court."
According to the sources of Past newspaper, there is preliminary information that the response of the Venice Commission may be received only in the mid-June; the [Armenian] authorities have that much time to regulate the plan of their future actions and clarify what to do.
Accordingly, at present, the authorities have started to make a final clarification in all the legal regulations related to the topic. At the present stage, they are trying to prepare all the necessary tools so that they do not waste time after the response of the Venice Commission.
