YEREVAN. – MPs Edmon Marukyan, Taron Simonyan, and Armen Yeghiazaryan of the opposition Bright Armenia faction in the National Assembly on Saturday informed that they are going to file lawsuits.
Their respective statement issued by Edmon Marukyan, leader of the Bright Armenia Party and head of its parliamentary faction, reads as follows: "Taron Simonyan, Armen Yeghiazaryan, and I are going to file lawsuits with the court in connection with the false news spread by the First News [newscast of state-funded Public Television of Armenia] with demands for publicly refuting the factual information that is considered defamatory and applying a measure of accountability."
To note, First News had reported that the aforesaid three deputies of the Bright Armenia faction had met with ex-President Serzh Sargsyan, who is chairman of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
