Arman Tatoyan, Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, on Wednesday made a post on his Facebook page, informing about an important initiative for the country and the ombudsman's institution.
"My next consultation with the newly elected President of the European Court of Human Rights [(ECHR)], Robert Spano, took place in Strasbourg [France] yesterday. (…).
(…). The President of the ECHR proposed to initiate a program with the court aimed at creating a new international experience of cooperation between the Ombudsmen in Europe and the European Court.
The President of the European Court proposed the candidacy of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia as the keynote speaker of those events. (…).
The President of the court of Strasbourg highly appreciated also the importance of the reports by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia for the court and of our work on the introduction of the European Court of Human Rights and the Convention within the country,” Arman Tatoyan wrote, in particular.
