Armenian ex-head of National Security Service Arthur Vanetsyan said the constitution's violation out of self-interest cannot go unpunished.
His statement came on the occasion of Constitution Day.
According to him, thanks to the Constitution, 'we managed to avoid chaos, uncontrollability, and situations that endanger statehood.'
"Violation of the Constitution for self-interest is one of the largest losses inflicted on the state, and it cannot go unpunished. The volume of such violations that have been observed in Armenia during the last days in a state of emergency has become a heavy blow to our state system," Vanetsyan noted.
As the ex-head said, "Armenia needs a protected constitution, and we will have it. Armenia needs existing institutional mechanisms, as well as public awareness that the constitutional system is inviolable."
