Armenian police cannot decide whether Constitutional Court judge's powers have expired or not, attorney Aram Vardevanyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
An incident occurred Friday morning at the entrance of the building of the Constitutional Court of Armenia after high-ranking police officers had not allowed Constitutional Court Judge Hrant Nazaryan to enter the court building.
According to the police, based on the amendments to the Constitution Court (CC) law that entered into force on June 26, 2020, the term of powers of some CC judges, including Hrant Nazaryan's, shall be deemed to be expired.
"The already former members of the CC are not entitled to enter the building of the Constitutional Court," the statement added.
Vardevanyan considered the situation as 'absurd.'
The attorney noted that there is a constitutional crisis in the CC.
