YEREVAN. – I do not think that there has been, is or will be "kamikaze" halls of power, halls of power that are committing suicide in Armenia that will think about generating anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia. Artur Ghazinyan, co-founder of the opposition One Armenia party, stated this at a press conference Friday, referring to opposition Prosperous Armenia Party leader, MP, and business tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan's statement that he will do everything to prevent provocations aimed at creating anti-Russian sentiments in the country.
"Attempts, of course, they are made in the ‘language’ of blackmail, speaking to Russia in the ‘language’ of threats, giving airtime to the leader of the self-proclaimed opposition in the Russian Federation, whereas in Russia they treat quite specifically when it comes to providing airtime by the state media of a strategic ally state to a subject who is rejected in the state system.
I believe that this is an action based on the journalistic experience of [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan, which [the action] has worked quite effectively: ‘Let me give bad information, let them come, ask me not to give it anymore, in return I will get some things.’ Russia is not the country with which one can speak in the ‘language’ of blackmail; it is not the state. For Armenia, Russia represents a strategic partner state that has vital importance," Ghazinyan concluded.
