There is activeness also among Azerbaijani women in response to the call for peace by Anna Hakobyan, wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (RA), and her Women for Peace campaign. Hakobyan's spokesperson Hasmik Harutyunyan said this in response to Armenpress' question,.
Asked what the response was to Anna Hakobyan's call for peace, and whether Azerbaijani women also have joined the aforesaid campaign and registered on its website, Harutyunyan said as follows:
“The Women for Peace campaign and the website of the same name launched by RA Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan are causing great interest in various countries. In recent days, the website has had more than half a million visitors from various countries. It should be noted that the number of registrants is also large. As for Azerbaijani women, there activeness from Azerbaijan, too, but given the situation in Azerbaijan—in terms of freedom of conscience and human rights violations, we will not publish any data due to the safety of those women."
To note, on July 25, Anna Hakobyan had called on Azerbaijani women to join the Women for Peace campaign. Hakobyan had announced about launching this campaign on July 24, 2018 in Moscow.
