Back in 2018, Nikol Pashinyan said direct democracy has been established in Armenia and people can speak to the government directly, but the government’s office isn’t accepting citizens’ letters anymore. This is what member of the Hayk nationalist movement Hrayr Kostanyan said while protesting with Lebanese-Armenians in front of the government.
With signs reading “Repatriation, Independence, Sovereignty”, the participants of the movement today gathered in front of the government building and held a protest with the demand to ensure the return of Lebanese-Armenians to their homeland.
They tried to submit a letter to the government, but police officers urged them to send the letter via mail, to which Hrayr Kostanyan said citizens can’t speak to the government directly anymore. He added that the members of the movement demand large-scale repatriation, starting with the Armenians from Lebanon.
