During a press conference today, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan said the Government of Armenia is drafting a package of actions to receive Armenians from Lebanon worthily.
“Armenia needs to be able to worthily receive the Armenians of Lebanon who wish to come and live in Armenia and become full-fledged members of society and citizens, taxpayers and soldiers, and we need to try to shape the homeland of our dreams together,” Sinanyan said, adding that, as a state, Armenia is responsible for its citizens. “Based on the data provided by the Embassy of Armenia in Lebanon, there are 25,000 citizens of Armenia living in Lebanon, and we are responsible for those citizens,” Sinanyan said.
He also informed that 370 Armenians have moved from Lebanon to Armenia via Middle East Airline on July 14, 21 and 28 and August 4 and 11.
