The solemn opening ceremony of the “Fighter for Peace” competition, which is being held on the sidelines of International Army Games-2020, took place at Monte Melkonian Military-Sport School today.
Among the attendees were Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Onik Gasparyan; high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces, as well as the military attaches of diplomatic representations accredited to Armenia.
Greeting the participants of the competition, Lieutenant General Onik Gasparyan stated that he is certain that the teams will show professionalism and a high degree of tactical-professional preparedness.
The solemn event ended with a demonstrative performance by the company of the Guard of Honor of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
Among the participants of the “Fighter for Peace” competition are representatives of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Belarus, Greece and Russia.
The tournaments will be held in Yerevan, Dilijan and Ijevan.
