The August 4 Beirut Port explosion resulted from large amounts of ammonium nitrate bewilderingly detonating after being irresponsibly stored and kept in the port for over 6 years.
The easily-preventable blast ripped through the city and destroyed everything in its vicinity, severely affecting as well the large Armenian-Lebanese community.
Efforts are now being made by the Armenian government as well as generous Armenians around the world to help their community in Lebanon after the tragic event.
“One of the oldest Armenian communities which, for over a century, has represented the unbreakable spirit and survival of our nation, today needs our help,” wrote the Hayastan All Armenian Fund, an organization working to support Armenians across the globe.
So far the Hayastan All Armenian Fund has fund successfully raised 92% of its $300,000 goal; there’s just a little more to go.

In solidarity, the Fund is organizing in partnership with the Public Television of Armenia a special fundraising concert “For You Lebanon” on August 29th evening.
“All funds raised are directed to Armenian educational institutions affected by the devastating explosion in Beirut,” said the NGO.
The event will be live-streamed on the H1TV website and the Hayastan All Armenian Fund’s Facebook page.
