YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The fate of the Golden Palace Hotel, which was handed over to state management, continues to hang in the air.
It should be reminded that in September 2019, the former head of the tax service Armen Avetisyan donated the hotel he owned to the state "in exchange for leaving him alone," which [the hotel] the halls of power are neither able to use nor sell until now.
Before the spread of the coronavirus, the hotel was put up for auction twice, but no buyer was found. Then the pandemic started, and one of the most luxurious hotels in Tsakhkadzor became a place of isolation for Covid patients.
Today it is empty again and is not even used. Chairman of the State Property Management Committee Narek Babayan told us that they intend to put the hotel up for auction for the third time.
Babayan said that there are people interested in the hotel, but they could not come and see the hotel because of the pandemic because the potential buyers are from abroad, for example, a Chinese businessman. There are no people interested from Armenia.
